Richard LaRusso

Senior VP, ExportDISC.com. Known as the “DISC destroyer” to those outside the IRS who had to deal with him in their examinations, Richard LaRusso recently retired from the IRS after 42 years. Richard was the principal drafter of the 2011 284-page DISC Audit Guide. From 2001 to the end of 2010 Richard was an International Technical Advisor for the LMSB and LB&I divisions responsible for the technical areas of Foreign Tax Credit, Foreign Sales Corporation, Extraterritorial Income Exclusion, Domestic International Sales Corporations, Permanent Establishment and Effectively Connected Income. Richard joined the IRS in 1969 and before becoming a technical advisor he spent 15 years as an International Examiner, 6 years as an instructor and technical material writer for the IRS School of Taxation, International Institute and frequently made presentations at CPE, Seminars, and International training classes. Richard graduated from Hofstra University in 1969 with a BBA in Accounting and he is a CPA licensed in the state of California.
